Baby And Mommy Farm Animals Cutting Practice Free Printable

(This post contains Amazon affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

Get some cutting practice and work on scissor skills with this free farm-themed cutting practice printable. This is great for preschoolers and older children working on learning how to cut with scissors and goes well with farm books and units. Work on cutting straight lines, zig-zag lines, and cuvy lines to “lead” the baby farm animals to their moms. This activity is also a great way to learn the names of baby animals!

We did this activity along with the Virtual Book Club For Kids. We’ve had so much fun so far, and would love for you to join us! The theme this week is Farm and the Book is Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type. Don’t forget to check out the end of this post for more information about the book club and all of the great activities this week.

Cutting Practice With The Farm Animals Printable:

Materials:

  • Farm Animals Cutting Practice Printable
  • Crayons
  • Scissors

What We Did:

First, I printed out the Farm Animals Cutting Practice Printable

Next, we colored the animal pictures while talking about their names.

We talked about how a baby cow is called a calf, a baby dog is a puppy, a baby pig is a piglet, and so on.

After we colored, I made each set into strips by cutting along the solid lines. This is optional, but I wanted to make it easier for my son to hold the paper as he cut along the dotted lines.

Next, my son carefully cut along the dotted lines to “lead” the baby animals to their moms.

There are straight lines and zig-zags, as well as curvy lines.

He continued until all of the dotted lines were cut.
